Rangers asking price for Todd Cantwell exit mooted amid Ibrox transfer speculation
Derek Clark has told Rangers that they should be holding out for at least £3million to sell Todd Cantwell during the summer transfer window.
The Englishman has had a mixed season at Ibrox under Philippe Clement, scoring just eight goals and laying on six assits in 44 appearances with some suggesting it is time that he moved on from Glasgow.
Although reports have suggested the 26-year-old could be dispensible this summer, Rangers Review journalist Derek Clark has insisted that the Light Blues shouldn’t be letting Cantwell leave for a cut-price when the window opens.
Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (4 June) he said: “How much do you think he’s worth, I’d be looking for upwards of £3million.
“He’s still a top player and I don’t think Rangers should be looking to sell on the cheap.”
Will Rangers and Philippe Clement sell Todd Cantwell in the summer transfer window?
Clement has insisted that he wants to make a number of changes to his Rangers team this summer and therefore it feels that nobody is truly safe from being axed ahead of the start of next season.
Alongside the likes of Jack Butland, Ridvan Yilmaz and James Tavernier, Cantwell is one of the few sellable assets in the Belgian’s squad and the Gers could well feel they could spend the money raised by his sale on new signings.

However, the Englishman will still need replacing as when he has been fit, he has tended to start week in and week out under Clement. He hasn’t been anywhere near as effective as most would have hoped, but he is one of the few creative players in this Rangers side currently.
If the Light Blues do decide to move the 26-year-old on this summer, they will be lucky if anyone is willing to foot that £million transfer fee. Should Cantwell return to form next season, he could be worth a lot mre than that in 12 months.
