Liam Kelly transfer update ahead of Rangers free transfer from Motherwell
Rangers look to have moved one step closer to signing Liam Kelly with the deal set to be confirmed soon, according to The Scotsman.
Graham Falk has reported (4 June) that the former Gers academy product is set for a return to Ibrox having initially been linked in May.
The Scottish international appears to have moved one step closer to joining Philippe Clement’s side on a free transfer this summer.
Offering his verdict on the potential deal, Falk said: “Very likely, it feels like this one will be wrapped up soon.”
Rangers move closer to confirming Liam Kelly signing
The squad rebuilding job for Clement at Rangers this season is going to be huge as he looks to plug gaps after many departures.
John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack amongst others have departed leaving plenty of holes in the squad moving into the summer.
With that being said, the Gers have already made one signing in Jefte from Fluminense and look set to add Kelly to the squad as well.
The Motherwell shot-stopper had a positive campaign Scottish Premiership as his side survived relegation, finishing in eighth.
With Jon McLaughlin departing at the end of his contract, the need for a second-choice goalkeeper was necessary this month.

This could prove to be an excellent signing although his minutes are set to be limited if Jack Butland stays at Ibrox beyond the summer.
Signing a player like Kelly on a free transfer could prove to be a shrewd piece of business for the club who are running on limited transfer funds.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues could look to “cash in” on one star when the summer transfer window opens.
