Steven Gerrard reacts to Ryan Jack transfer news at Rangers
Steven Gerrard has reacted to confirmation that Ryan Jack will leave Rangers this summer.
The Gers confirmed via their official website (1 June) that five long-serving players will depart Ibrox when their contracts expire this summer.
One of those five players is Jack, with the club posting a thank you message to the midfielder via their official Instagram (1 June).
And among the many comments was Jack’s former manager Gerrard, who simply responded to the post with a blue heart emoji.
Rangers supporters will miss Ryan Jack at Ibrox
From the comments which flooded Rangers’ post, it is clear to see that Jack will be missed at Ibrox.
Since joining the club from Aberdeen in 2017, the 32-year-old has made many memories in Glasgow.
Most notably of all, he was part of Gerrard’s title-winning team in the 2020/21 season.
He was also a member of the squad which reached the UEFA Europa League final in the 2021/22 season.
Across 210 appearances in all competitions, he scored 15 goals and registered 16 assists.
And he will no doubt be remembered fondly by supporters.
However, the decision to let him go makes sense.
Jack was significantly impacted by injuries last season, managing just 11 Scottish Premiership appearances.

Philippe Clement will be keen to overhaul his squad this summer.
And Jack was never likely to be part of those plans.
However, while he might be set to say goodbye, Rangers will always remember his contributions over the past seven years.
In other Rangers news, the club have already found a successor for one long-serving player.
