Dalcio moots Rangers defender Jefte transfer to Real Madrid in future after what he saw

Omonia FC midfielder Dalcio has lauded Rangers defender Jefte and has tipped him to play for Real Madrid in the future.

The Guinea-Bissau international believes that he’s got the potential to seal a transfer to Los Blancos eventually.

He believes that his pace is one of his standout attributes and that’s going to be a huge boost for Gers next season.

Dalcio told the Scottish Daily Mail, as quoted by the Daily Record on 2 June: “Jefte’s a very good player, really offensive. He’ll bring speed and goals to Rangers. And he’s young so he’ll learn. He’s still developing and Rangers can bring the best out of him. He will improve at Ibrox. He’s a good player now but has so much potential to get better. He came to APOEL as a young player and was thrown straight into a top league.

“Of course, for the first three or four months it was difficult for him as he adapted. But, after that, he was an amazing left-back for us. Rangers aren’t paying a lot of money for Jefte now. But in the future he can be anything he wants to be. Everything depends on Jefte himself. If he works hard and wants it – and everyone said this about him at APOEL – he could play for Real Madrid in the future.

“That’s the potential he has and I’m sure you’ll see that in Scotland. He’s TOO fast. It’s unbelievable. He has a really good left-foot and likes to take corners and free-kicks. He’s just like Tavernier at Rangers now. Jefte likes to get into the box and score, even from left-back.

“I’ve told him he must learn more about the defensive side of the game. And he’ll need that because the Scottish league is strong. You have to be focused there to defend, as well as attack.”

The transfer of Jefte may be a coup for Rangers this summer

Given Jefte’s offensive prowess and the high expectations set for him, Ridvan Yilmaz, the current first-choice left-back, will need to up his game to retain his spot.

The Turk will have to demonstrate his defensive abilities and adapt to the fast-paced and physically demanding Scottish league.

He will need to prove that he can contribute offensively, similar to Jefte, and ensure that he is consistently delivering strong performances to remain the first choice.

The competition between the two players could potentially elevate the level of play at Rangers, pushing both players to their full potential.

Gers appear to have sealed a quality signing even though he may not be a household name among the Ibrox faithful.

Whether or not he can continue his performances in Scotland, remains to be seen, but the expectation is that he will thrive.
