Sam Lammers to hold talks with Rangers before transfer decision made with FC Urtecht
Sam Lammers will hold talks with Rangers before making a decision on his permanent future as FC Urtecht “want nothing more” than to sign him, according to VI.
Writing on their website (1 June), the Netherlands news outlet report that the Ibrox club are in a great negotiating position after his form in the second half of the season saw him score 11 goals and register three assists in 20 appearances.
But while there is interest from other clubs [Rangers Review, 29 May] in the Dutch striker, he wants to hold talks with Philippe Clement first before making a final decision.
Rangers must sell Sam Lammers regardless of Eredivisie form
While the squad needs rebuilding this summer and Clement has some big decisions to make, it may be tempting to bring someone back into the fold who performed well away from Ibrox.
Lammers played as the out-and-out number nine option in Holland with Urtecht and delivered, but they play in a completely different way to how Clement has been setting up Rangers.
Cyriel Dessers and Danilo are both still options at the club for next season and are better options, while there is also talk of a move for another forward being made too.

That should be proof enough that Lammers should move on, but also the fact that the club could potentially reap a profit or at least get their money back means they should be all over it.
It’s rare that the club can claim a victory in the transfer market, so it should be a top priority to get him out permanently to bolster the budget for players that are actually wanted.
