Rangers eye summer move for Stojan Lekovic as new Aberdeen transfer update emerges at Ibrox
Rangers and have reportedly shown an interest in FK Radnicki Kragujevac goalkeeper Stojan Lekovic ahead of the summer transfer window, according to FussballEuropa.com.
The European outlet reported on its website on Wednesday (29 May) that the stopper has extended his contract with the Serbian side, but there is a gentleman’s agreement to let him leave this summer if a low six-figure fee is received.
Werder Bremen have been interested in signing the 22-year-old but have now extended Michael Zetterer’s contract, and it appears that both the Gers and Aberdeen have been alerted by Lekovic’s availability.
The two Scottish Premiership sides are joined by a variety of Bundesliga and Serbian sides in holding an interest in securing his signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
Will Rangers sign Stojan Lekovic during the summer transfer window at Ibrox?
While Philippe Clement is expected to make a lot of changes to his squad during the summer transfer window at Ibrox, few supporters would have expected that a new keeper would be top of the Belgian’s shopping list.
Barring his big mistake in the Scottish Cup final, Jack Butland was arguably the Light Blues’ best player last season. Unless a big money offer arrives for him, it feels unlikely Clement will allow him to leave when the window opens.
But there has been interest in the England international from the Premier League in the past and the Gers may well feel that they have to begin succession planning at Ibrox to ensure they have a keeper ready to step into the fold.

Robbie McCrorie’s future in Glasgow remains unclear, with reports suggesting he could be set to end his stay at Ibrox this summer. With speculation surrounding both first-team stoppers, securing a new keeper could be crucial.
Whether Lekovic is the man to step in remains to be seen, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a new goalkeeper between the posts next year.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are currently in negotiations for “six or seven” players at Ibrox this summer
