Danilo and PSG ace Xavi Simons send message to Fabio Silva as he pens Rangers farewell

Danilo and PSG attacker Xavi Simons, who’s on loan at RB Leipzig, sent a message to Fabio Silva who will return to Wolves after his loan spell at Rangers.

Silva struggled to adapt to life in Glasgow and was played out wide more frequently than he was in a central role, which is he more accustomed to.

The 21-year-old scored just four league goals in 18 appearances for the Scottish club.

He wrote on Instagram: “Life will knock us down but we can choose whether or not to get back up. Life is made up of good and bad moments. Of ups and downs.

“This season I gained much more than I lost. I lived in new stadiums, new environments and in a different city. It was a year of learning and a year that made me a man. I learned that the important thing is to never give up and that I must mature every day so that the result is consistent.

“Thank you to everyone. To my parents, my brothers, family, friends and my agent. To Wolverhampton and Rangers. The important thing is to be desired and happy. And with them, I can do anything.

“Trust the process always.”

To which Danilo responded, “You’re different, bro” while Simons also affectionately called him his brother.

Danilo has a point to prove at Rangers as Fabio Silva fails to impress

Silva’s loan move to Ibrox in the second half of the season didn’t meet the expectations set for him.

Despite his high-profile transfer from Wolves and the hopes of Gers fans for a prolific goal-scorer, the Portuguese struggled to make a significant impact, particularly in the crucial final third of the season.

His performance was overshadowed by Celtic’s loan striker Adam Idah, who played a pivotal role in their title and Scottish Cup victories.

Silva’s time at the club was marked by criticism and the pressure of the run-in, which he didn’t fully rise to.

However, the young striker has shown resilience, claiming that the challenges he faced have made him stronger.

On the other hand, Danilo has been a subject of expectations for the upcoming season.

The message of encouragement from Danilo to Silva suggests a camaraderie and support system within the team.

However, more is expected from Danilo in the next season, as he, like Silva, has faced his share of challenges and is looking to prove his worth.

In other Rangers news, a fresh claim has emerged on Gers’ quest to secure the services of an England-born winger who enjoyed a phenomenal 2023/24 season.
