Rangers transfer news as Oscar Cortes medical claim issued by Doctor
Oscar Cortes will not be needing a medical to sign permanently for Rangers this summer, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Colombian winger undergoing his rehab at the club is a sign that he’s being monitored by the Gers physios.
On May 27, footage emerged of the 20-year-old along with Danilo training and building up his fitness in a Rangers kit.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“If he’s been under the care and continues to be under the care of team physios, I suspect they would waive the medical.
“As footage has emerged of him not just training in the club’s kit but he’s also been using their facilities for rehab, it’s pretty evident that they want him to stay.
“The club’s physios will be monitoring his fitness every step of the way so it’s going to be a mere announcement of him staying, if he does, rather than a thorough physical assessment.“
Oscar Cortes struggled with injuries since joining Rangers
The 20-year-old looked sharp right from the get go and many fans believed that he could secure a regular first-team role at the club.
However, after six league appearances in which he bagged a goal and an assist, Cortes’ season came to a premature end.

His last appearance for the club came on 28 February when he played 70 minutes in the 2-1 win over Kilmarnock.
In other Rangers news, a fresh claim has emerged on Gers’ quest to secure the services of an England-born winger who enjoyed a phenomenal 2023/24 season.
