Rangers in negotiations for ‘six or seven’ players amid transfer verdict on Albion Rrahmani
Rangers are likely in transfer negotiations over “six or seven” players but they do hold a genuine interest in Albion Rrahmani, according to Stevie Clifford.
The Light Blues have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old striker alongside the likes of Aston Villa and Benfica, but reports have suggested Philippe Clement’s side are yet to make an official bid this summer [The 4th Official, 21 May].
While no concrete updates have emerged over whether the Light Blues’ interest has progressed, Clifford admits the situation could change in a “split second” as Rangers continue their negotiations.
Speaking on The Rangers Review YouTube channel (29 May) he said: “From the last I heard, there was a definite interest in him but, I don’t think there is any update as so.
“Rangers have probably got six or seven negotiations or so ongoing for key players and they will all progress at different speeds.
“We just need to wait and see, these things could happen in a split second. Basically, he could turn up to get a medical tomorrow, we don’t know that’s God’s honest truth.”
Will Rangers and Philippe Clement sign Albion Rrahmani during the summer transfer window?
A new number nine will be top of most supporters’ shopping lists at Ibrox this summer as it is clear the Light Blues need a new striker capable of supporting Cyriel Dessers at the top end of the pitch.
While Danilo is set to return from injury during pre-season, Clement is set to lose Kemar Roofe who will depart Ibrox as a free agent and it remains to be seen whether or not Abdallah Sima will make his stay in Glasgow permanent.

Rrahmani’s record makes for good reading and while he could well cost a pretty penny, he is capable of being a real difference-maker in the race for the title. If a deal can be struck, the Gers would be stupid to let it pass them by.
Hopefully, the Light Blues will act upon their interest sooner rather than later and a deal can be completed quickly ahead of pre-season. At least supporters can rest easy knowing that the Gers’ interest is genuine.
