Rangers plot double backroom staff swoop from Antwerp as part of Philippe Clement Ibrox overhaul

Philippe Clement wants to add to his backroom staff at Rangers and is close to a double swoop from Antwerp, according to Voetbal International.

Writing on their website (24 May), the news outlet report that Mark van Bommel’s assistant Andries Ulderink will leave Antwerp this summer and will join as Clement’s first assistant once the final details are sorted on his contract.

And Clement also wants to add video analyst John Stegeman to his backroom staff at Ibrox, as he plots a major overhaul during the summer transfer window.

Philippe Clement putting his stamp on Rangers

Ever since his arrival to the club at the back end of 2023, Clement has been very vocal that change is needed and that he is the one to lead it.

His performances on the pitch have been good enough to earn the trust of the fans and the board, and the work is already underway with the playing squad.

But other things need to be changed too considering all the injuries with the squad this season and the slow starts that have plagued the team in big games, especially against Celtic, and Clement is looking to make those moves.

Antwerp finished third in the regular season of the Belgian Pro League this year, and with Rangers looking to push ahead in Europe and also overtake Celtic domestically that will help them to improve.

Things are changing in Glasgow, and Clement is the man driving the change. It’s an exciting time.
