Rangers loanee most likely to be part of Philippe Clement 2024/25 squad named

Ianis Hagi has been named as the Rangers loanee most likely to be part of Philippe Clement’s squad next season, according to Football Scotland.

Writing on their website (24 May), the news outlet were analysing the ten players the club have out on loan this season and spoke about their chances of making it at Ibrox next season.

Sam Lammers and Jose Cifuentes are not expected to return, while seven youth players could head back out on loan or leave. But Hagi is expected to get a chance under Clement despite struggling on loan in La Liga with Alaves.

Rangers need creativity and reliability in 2024/25

This season has been a real rollercoaster for Rangers because of mixed results but also an incredible amount of injuries across the squad.

All areas of the pitch have been affected at different points, barring Jack Butland in goal, and Clement has made it clear that he wants to address that issue during the summer window.

That means several players are likely to leave the club when their contract expires, but also others are likely to go be shifted if they’re not part of the plans with the message being no passengers can be carried.

That could leave the likes of Tom Lawrence or Kieran Dowell struggling for their future due to their persistent injury problems, and could open the door for Hagi to compete with Todd Cantwell for the number ten role.

The team often struggled to break down low blocks during this campaign, and Hagi’s creativity is undeniable. He could be a great addition to the squad and without spending an extra penny, it would make it great business.

In other Rangers news, the club want to sign a new striker ahead of Celtic in what would be a club-record deal.
