Philippe Clement must axe Fabio Silva after display in Rangers v Celtic

Philippe Clement must drop Fabio Silva at half-time if he wants Rangers to beat their rivals Celtic at Hampden Park.

While the Hoops have had the better of the chances, they have failed to take the lead on Saturday, 25 May.

This game is still there for the taking for Clement’s side, but he needs to take Silva off at the break in order to secure the win.

Rangers must bring on Abdallah Sima for Fabio Silva

In the 18th minute, the Portuguese striker found himself in a decent goal-scoring opportunity and he should’ve looked to test the keeper.

However, his shot lacked power and precision and Joe Hart had no problem in stopping it from going in.

Signed in January to be a goal-scoring threat, Silva has been anything but, and if his all-round game was impressive, fans would not have been so infuriated by him.

However, he just does not seem to be offering anything off the ball either and with Abdallah Sima on the bench, it’s obvious what Clement needs to do.

While Sima might not be at 100 per cent, he can offer more of a goal-scoring threat as he can tuck in and be a threat on the far post.

With regards to Silva, this is the last game of his loan spell and Clement or anyone at the club must not look to bring him back to the club and this should be the last time he’s donning the Gers jersey.

In other Rangers news, names of seven first-team players have emerged who are mooted to seal their permanent Ibrox exit this summer.
