Jefte spotted at Hampden Park ahead of Rangers Old Firm showdown v Celtic
Rangers new signing Jefte has been spotted and pictured at Hampden Park ahead of the Light Blues’ Scottish Cup final with Celtic.
Philippe Clement’s side face Brendan Rodgers’ Hoops on Saturday (25 May) as they look to lift a domestic double and win their first Old Firm derby under the management of the Belgian this season.
Although the transfer window hasn’t yet opened, Clement has already begun to add to his squad ahead of next season, with Brazilian ace Jefte joining the ranks at Ibrox and he has been seen in attendance at Hampden.
As shared by Four Lads Had A Dream on X (25 May), the defender was pictured in amongst the crowd in the national stadium as the ground begin to fill up ahead of kick-off.
Will Jefte play for Rangers against Celtic in the Old Firm derby?
Rangers were always going to be busy this summer and Clement has made no secret of that fact in recent weeks as he has repeatedly insisted that he is keen to make a number of changes to his squad come the end of the season.
While he will be keen to add more goals to his squad to ease the reliance on Cyriel Dessers at the top end of the field, the Belgian has to sort out his backline first as they have leaked far too many goals this term.
With Borna Barisic set to depart, speculation continuing to surround James Tavernier and Ridvan Yilmaz struggling with multiple fitness issues, the Light Blues had to move quickly to reinforce their full-back options.
Although Jefte would love to be out on the field with his new side for Saturday’s cup final, he will be fit and ready to step into the fold next season after a full pre-season in Glasgow.
Who knows, he could be the difference between a second-placed finish and a title win next season.
