BBC pundit fumes at Greg Taylor after what he did in Rangers v Celtic
Pat Bonner has raged over Celtic defender Greg Taylor after what he did in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers on 25 May.
The BBC pundit believes that he picked up a needless booking which then would’ve put him on tenterhooks for the rest of the game.
The scoreline was 0-0 at the time with Gers having a goal disallowed by Abdallah Sima, but Adam Idah then scored to win it for the Hoops.
Bonner told BBC Sportsound at 4:36pm: “Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
“A stupid thing to do in a cup final from Greg Taylor. It just takes another silly tackle and you are off the pitch.”
Rangers failed to capitalise on Greg Taylor’s lapses for Celtic
Taylor’s booking gave Gers a significant advantage down their right side.
The left-back’s caution meant he had to tread carefully for the rest of the game, potentially limiting his defensive effectiveness and possibly forcing him to hold back in his challenges.
This situation could have allowed Rangers more freedom to exploit Celtic’s left side, especially if they had pushed forward aggressively.
However, despite this potential advantage, Gers failed to capitalise on it.
This serves as a reminder that while strategic advantages can be important in football, they are not always decisive.

It also showed that Gers need to be more ruthless going forward if they are to edge Celtic to trophies as these little things can go a long way towards achieving silverware.
