Sky Sports journalist shares John Lundstram team news view for Rangers v Celtic

Dan Bardell has suggested that Philippe Clement should reinstate John Lundstram back into his Rangers side for the Scottish Cup final against Celtic.

The Englishman was sent off at Parkhead for a poor challenge on Alistair Johnson which all but secured the result for the home side.

He also scored an own goal on the day which helped Brendan Rodgers’ side secure the Scottish Premiership title.

Lundstram is available for the clash at Hampden Park and Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes he should return to the starting XI.

Speaking exclusively to Ibrox News, Bardell said: “I think Lundstram is a good player and has been a good player for Rangers. He’s not the first person to get sent off in an Old Firm derby. It was a bad tackle but it’s one of those things, they happen.

I would suggest that he should come straight back in as I believe he is a key player and important player for Rangers.

Should John Lundstram start for Rangers v Celtic?

The Englishman has been superb throughout the season and has been a key player at Ibrox regardless of the manager in charge.

This has seen him feature across 34 Scottish Premiership games but will be frustrated that the Gers could only finish second.

He has had a consistent season overall which has made him a regular in the centre of the park for Rangers this season.

His worst performance of the season did come against Celtic. The bizarre own goal was just the beginning which saw the Light Blues go further behind.

Just seven minutes after Cyriel Dessers halved the deficit, a silly challenge by the midfielder saw him receive his marching orders.

This has seen him miss out on the two fixtures since which could go in his favour or scupper his performance in the final.

Lundstram has been one of Rangers’ best players this campaign and deserves a chance to return to the starting XI in the cup final.
