Jefte deal all but done as Four Lads detail what’s next for incoming Rangers signing

Rangers have secured their first summer signing before their season has even been completed, as Four Lads Had A Dream have shared on social media that the Jefte deal is all but done at Ibrox.

The channel posted on X [24 May] to disclose that Jefte had passed a medical on Thursday and that the official unveiling is now all that is missing.

The 20-year-old Brazilian is set to become signing number one of an eagerly anticipated transfer window, with fellow defender Jose Cordoba set to follow closely behind.

The post from Four Lads read: “Jefte. The player is here, passed a medical yesterday [23 May].

“As widely reported by sources a few days ago. All done barring official club announcement. Arrival one.”

Jefte through the Rangers door, but how many more?

With Jefte as good as done and Cordoba looking almost complete, this is just the tip of the iceberg for Rangers.

Philippe Clement is under no illusions as to how steep the recruitment task is this summer. They simply have to start well or his job is immediately at stake – the sluggish start arguably cost the Light Blues the title this season, with Celtic not as rampant as last year.

Borna Barisic will go, as will John Lundstram, so it looks. Loanees will go back to parent clubs – although Abdallah Sima and Oscar Cortes are two names Clement is keen to reclaim.

Everything must be done for the club to keep Player of the Season nominees Jack Butland and James Tavernier, who have three years and two seasons left to run on their respective contracts – the goalkeeper in particular has garnered rave reviews and links back to the Premier League.

With these exits given varying levels of possibility, it’s down to Clement and his wider team to ensure the quality and quantity arrive in the right balance.

They’ve started well, and could have another two or more through the door by next weekend.

In other Rangers news, Clement is drawn into questioning over Lundstram ahead of the Scottish Cup final with Celtic.
