Jose Cordoba sends cryptic social media post as Rangers close in on new transfer

Jose Cordoba has posted a cryptic message on Instagram as he closes in on a summer transfer to Rangers.

Philippe Clement is keen to add to his Ibrox squad this summer and the Panama international is a key target for the centre of defence, with a deal reportedly agreed with his current side Levski Sofia.

Cordoba has also been linked with a move to Norwich but it’s the Scottish giants who are said to be leading the race for his signature, and the 22-year-old has fueled the fire with his latest post on his official Instagram account (22 May).

The defender posted a black and white image of Ragnar Lothbrok, a character from TV series “Vikings”, who is best known for invading Britain in the show.

Rangers looking to get business done early

Clement has made it clear that there will be big changes at Ibrox this summer, with the current squad “at the end of it’s cycle”.

That means there will be plenty of outgoings and plenty of incoming to replace them, but also additions to strengthen the squad to be able to compete with Celtic in the title race.

Cordoba isn’t someone who is well known in Europe and doesn’t have too much experience at the highest level, but at 22 there is plenty of room for improvement and great potential there.

Leon Balogun is out of contract, Ben Davies is likely to leave and there are question marks over Connor Goldson’s future too meaning there is space in the squad for someone to come in and make an impact.

Rangers are also open to new heroes and Cordoba is making a good first impression by choosing Ibrox over England and trying to show his warrior mentality early doors.

In other Rangers news, Fabrizio Romano has shared that the first signing of the summer is en route for a medical.
