Jack Butland and James Tavernier could make final appearances – Rangers predicted XI v Celtic

Jack Butland, James Tavernier and Fabio Silva could all make their final Rangers appearances in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic on 25 May.

Butland (Rangers Review, 22 May) and Tavernier (Daily Record, April 24) have both been linked with moves away from Ibrox this summer, while Silva’s loan deal from Wolves is set to end.

Rangers lifted the Scottish League Cup but were pipped to the Scottish Premiership title by Celtic ahead of the pair’s showdown for the final domestic trophy of the season at Hampden Park.

Jack Butland, James Tavernier and Fabio Silva may not be the only Rangers players to say their farewells v Celtic

Rangers are set for a squad overhaul under Philippe Clement this summer, with a number of first-team players’ contracts expiring, as well as loans ending and interest in several stars such as Tavernier and Butland.

A raft of late-season injuries could play a big part in Clement’s team selection in the final against Celtic, with first-choice central defensive pairing John Souttar and Connor Goldson both out – Leon King and Ben Davies will continue to deputise.

Robbie Fraser was handed his full debut against Hearts but will surely not keep his place for an Old Firm derby, with first-choice left-back Ridvan Yilmaz likely to take his place in the side.

Silva, meanwhile, could displace Scott Wright on the left wing, having scored off the bench against Hearts after replacing the Scotsman as a substitute on the hour mark.

Rangers predicted XI v Celtic

Ross McCausland could keep his spot on the right flank after scoring in each of the last two games, with Dujon Sterling and Abdallah Sima both only recently returning from injury.

In other news, Keith Jackson has mooted a “serious issue” inside the Gers dressing room.
