Todd Cantwell fitness update emerges ahead of Rangers v Celtic cup final
Rangers attacker Todd Cantwell’s post-injury reintroduction v Celtic was handled well by Philippe Clement, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Belgian did the right thing by not bringing him off the bench with Gers down to 10 men.
This resulted in him playing the full 90 minutes against Dundee and Hearts in the games after and will be ready for the same against the Hoops in the cup final on 25 May.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“With Cantwell, it’s a situation where the manager didn’t want to throw him into a game coming off an injury where the team will have suffered due to being down 10 men.
“Smart management to not bring him on at the break against Celtic.
“He has played 90 minutes in the last two games since then so the manager deserves massive credit and he does seem to be 100 per cent ahead of the final.“
Can Todd Cantwell make the difference for Rangers v Celtic
Cantwell has scored two goals and registered an assist in his last two starts and will be in contention to start again on Saturday.
He has had his struggles this season but appears to have picked up form come the end of the season and will be looking for a positive way to wrap things up.

A match-winning performance against the cross-town rivals in the Old Firm could go a long way towards winning over the Gers support.
In other Rangers news, the club are likely to lock horns with Celtic over the signing of a highly-rated left-back in the summer transfer window.
