Rangers are yet to submit a formal offer for Albion Rrahmani, but Rapid Bucharest are interested in selling the striker, according to the 4th Official.

The outlet reported via its Patreon page on Tuesday (21 May) that a trusted source has suggested the Gers are yet to submit a bid for the striker ahead of the summer transfer window despite alternative reports.

Reports have suggested that the Light Blues have scouted the striker closely as he was one of the names being considered as Philippe Clement looks to add to his striking options come the end of the season.

While Clement will be eager to make a number of additions to his squad at Ibrox this summer and while the defence will be the number one priority, additions simply have to be made at the top end of the pitch this summer.

The Gers have been reliant on the goals of Cyriel Dessers this season with Kemar Roofe and Danilo spending much of the season on the treatment table while Sam Lammers struggled to adapt to the Scottish league.

Rrahmani has shown that he can be a consistent source of goals this season as he has found the net 17 times in just 25 league appearances. That sort of goalscorer could be the difference between winning and losing the title.

Whether or not the Gers will act upon their interest when the summer transfer window opens remains to be seen. They will likely have several targets on their list and Rrahmani will just be one name among many.

Some fans will be desperate for the Light Blues to recruit from within Scotland with both Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland the primary candidates, but it seems that Clement will be keen to recruit from abroad.
