Neil Lennon makes Rangers transfer decision on Albion Rrahmani
New Rapid Bucharest manager Neil Lennon has suggested he doesn’t want to sell Albion Rrahmani with Rangers showing an interest.
The Gers had been initially linked to the forward earlier this month [Kosovan Football] but a move looks to have been put on hold.
Former Celtic boss Lennon was announced as manager of the Romanian side on Monday (20 May) [FC Rapid] and he has already moved to scupper Rangers.
Speaking in his first press conference, transcribed by the Daily Record, he said he wants to keep the Light Blues linked Rrahmani this summer.
He said: “I don’t want him to leave anywhere. He is a top player and goalscorers are a valuable commodity to the team.
“They are very important players and he has had a fantastic season. That is a discussion that we hope will take place but I can’t control that at the minute.”
Should Rangers sign Albion Rrahmani?
With 17 goals and five assists in 25 appearances for Rapid this season, there is no doubt that the forward has been on fire this campaign.
It is clear he is in confident form and has all the requirements of a player that could have a positive impact for Rangers next season.
He is happy playing as a solo or secondary striker while also having the capability to play on the wing if needed.
This could make him a useful option for Philippe Clement next season, especially given the striker talents he already has available.
Danilo looks set to make his return, potentially in time for the Scottish Cup final against Celtic, which would be a massive boost.

Cyriel Dessers has had a positive debut campaign at Ibrox on the whole and he will be hopeful of keeping up the goalscoring form he has shown.
Rrahmani could be a great signing due to his goalscoring exploits and versatility. He will also cost less given the league he is coming from and could prove to be a bargain. Ultimately, that money counts for more than anything Lennon says.
