Liam Kelly agrees to join Rangers with ‘Stunning’ transfer on cards at Ibrox

Liam Kelly has agreed to join Rangers ahead of leaving Motherwell with a “stunning” return to Ibrox set, according to the Scottish Sun.

The soon-to-be free-agent goalkeeper is ready to join Philippe Clement in his major rebuild this summer and will become the deputy to Jack Butland.

It is said that the 28-year-old has found the offer impossible to reject with Kelly set to return to his first-ever career club at Rangers.

Rangers to tick off yet another new transfer

With Jose Cordoba set to move to Ibrox from Levski Sofia in Bulgaria, the summer rebuild has already begun for Clement and Nils Koppen.

Jon McLaughlin is finally set to leave the club and with Robby McCrorie also potentially heading towards the exit, a free addition in that area seems very smart.

Butland has cemented his spot as the number one with ease at Ibrox and has had a sensational first season, something that Kelly will probably realise coming in.

A squad rebuild isn’t just about spending big-money fees for big-name players, and a move for Kelly which will cost nothing could be equally as important down the line.

This is certainly one to watch with no transfers likely to be confirmed before the Scottish Cup final against Celtic on 25 May.

With Kelly set to leave Motherwell in June though, it looks as though this one has been lined up already and should be confirmed relatively quickly.
