Rangers set to see off Wolves competition for first summer transfer
Rangers are close to completing a deal for Orlando Pirates ace Relebohile Mofokeng, according to The Scottish Sun.
The publication reported on its website on Saturday (18 May) that Red Bull Salzburg, Wolves and Al-Ahly are also interested in striking a deal.
However, it is claimed that the Gers have stolen a march on those clubs and could now make Mofokeng their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Who is Rangers and Wolves target Relebohile Mofokeng?
Mofokeng is a versatile attacker who can play in the centre or out wide, with the former the position he has been used most often.
Aged 19, Mofokeng scored four goals and assisted six more as Orlando Pirates finished third in the South African top flight this season.
The youngster’s form has earned him a call-up to the South Africa senior side for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

It is clear that Mofokeng is already a player in demand, and it is important the Gers get a deal over the line for him as soon as possible.
As we saw with the signing of Mohamed Diomande, who cut a similar path to Mofokeng, there are many uncut gems out there to be had.
Sixteen starts this season is hardly enough to form a full picture, but given the relatively small fee, this seems a transfer worth pursuing.
