Rangers in hot pursuit of record-breaker Albion Rrahmani as Aston Villa transfer news emerges
Rangers are interested in bringing Rapid Bucharest striker Albion Rrahmani to Ibrox this summer, according to Kosovan Football.
In an update on X on 18 May, the Kosovan news outlet reported that Philippe Clement’s side have joined the likes of Aston Villa and Benfica in the race to sign the forward, who has 19 goals and five assists so far this season.
Rrahmani currently has four senior caps to his name for Kosovo, featuring in the nation’s Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
He became the most expensive player in Kosovo SuperLeague history when Rapid Bucharest signed him for £515,000 (€600,000) from Ballkani last August.
Rangers are expecting a busy summer of recruitment as they look to topple Celtic at the summit of the Scottish Premiership next year, especially with attacking players linked with moves away.
Rangers need a successful summer
Ultimately, the table doesn’t lie – not just with points, but that Rangers scored fewer goals than Celtic as well as conceding more.
The sluggish start to the campaign under Michael Beale, a busy schedule and injury issues all combined for the Light Blues to fall short.
After next week’s Scottish Cup final – a chance for Rangers to secure a cup double this season and gain some front back on Celtic – it has to be all hands on deck to bring in the right players.

Many will depart Ibrox – some are already confirmed such as Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe – and the recruitment has to be spot on.
Rangers have long maintained a traditional approach in regards to the manager’s involvement in transfer dealings, meaning the medallion around Clement’s shoulders this summer is a heavy one.
The positivity does however remain that the gap isn’t far from being bridged, and that a clutch of effective new signings can carve out serious results for the club next term.
