Oscar Cortes shares new Rangers injury update as Auchenhowie footage emerges on social media
Rangers winger Oscar Cortes has shared new footage of him back in training at Auchenowie as he continues his recovery from injury.
The Colombian winger hasn’t played for the Light Blues since February having initially joined on a six-month loan deal from Lens in the January transfer window, with Philippe Clement confirming his season is over.
While there has been nothing to suggest the 20-year-old could make a surprise return to the Gers’ squad for the Scottish Cup final against Celtic at Hampden Park, he appears to be making progress with his recovery.
In the footage originally posted on Instagram and shared by Gavin Kelly on X (18 May) Cortes can be seen in training kit on the Auchenowie pitches juggling a football and performing a couple of impressive ball tricks.

He may not have been fit for very long, but Cortes certainly left an impression during his short time at Ibrox as he set Glasgow alight with a couple of really good attacking displays following his arrival in January.
You have to wonder if the race for the Premiership title may have been different had he not missed the majority of the second half of the campaign, especially with Rabbi Matondo and Sima ruled out as well.
Clement has lacked genuine winners in his squad and has instead had to rely on the likes of Fabio Silva and Scott Wright who have been unable to show the consistency required to fire a side to the Premiership title.
The Rangers boss has already admitted that he would be keen to bring Cortes back to Glasgow next term and now that he has been spotted still in Glasgow, that could be a genuine possibility when the summer window opens.
Hopefully, we haven’t seen the last of the Colombian in Gers’ colours.
