BBC Sportscene pundit blasts ‘audacity’ of Fabio Silva for what he did in Rangers 3-3 v Hearts
Neil McCann has blasted Rangers forward Fabio Silva for the “audacity” of his actions during his side’s 3-3 draw with Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Speaking on BBC Sportscene on 18 May [36m 44s], McCann levelled criticism at players he regards as not hurting enough from the disappointing end to Rangers’ season.
On-loan Wolves man Silva put the Gers 3-1 up in Edinburgh, only for Philippe Clement to see his side let slip a two-goal lead to take a point.
McCann said: “Certain individuals for me are showing that it doesn’t bother them.
“I point out Fabio Silva. Last week, he’s not working back. He’s doing it again, just watching Lembikisa for Hearts’ second goal.
“He’s got the audacity after he scored to point to his back and let everyone know who he is – the full-back knows who you are.”
Fabio Silva’s frustrating Rangers loan
It’s fair to say Silva has produced little above the bare minimum expected of him when he was brought to Ibrox on loan from Wolves.
The Portuguese youngster has scored four goals without a single assist to his name in 18 games, at a time Rangers fans have needed their attackers on song to keep the pace with Celtic.
Clement will not be looking to take Silva back next season – his inconsistency has been hair-tearing and his rare good moments are often outshone by indulgent celebrations or a lack of self-awareness.

Whilst it’s a positive that Silva plays with a certain aura of confidence about him, there’s a time to let it take a backseat – and Light Blues fans have seen nowhere near enough of that.
It will be intriguing to see where the next step is for the attacker, as there is zero chance he’ll be a Premier League regular within the next 12 months.
