Rangers step closer to Leeds United bonus payment as Premier League promotion nears
Rangers are set to receive just shy of £500,000 if Glen Kamara secures promotion to the Premier League with Leeds United this season, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.
Leeds took one step closer to promotion as they booked their place in the Championship play-off final with a 4-0 win over Norwich City at Elland Road on Thursday 16 May.
Kamara, who the Whites signed from the Gers for £5million last summer, played a vital role in the victory as he played 90 minutes and could still benefit the Scotland giants.
Taking to X on Thursday (16 May), Four Lads wrote: “Glen Kamara deal – Rangers are due a little under £500k if Leeds gain promotion.”
Rangers set to profit from Glen Kamara success with Leeds United
After making 193 appearances for Rangers over a four-and-a-half-year period, Kamara is still set to benefit them financially after making the switch to England last summer.
The 28-year-old has been an integral part of Daniel Farke’s squad this season, starting 33 league matches, though he has seen a drop in form in recent weeks.
Though many might not see the importance of the £500,000, Philippe Clement will be keen to make some additions to his squad during the summer transfer window and that money could make a huge difference in the calibre of a player.
Many have already mooted a huge rebuild this summer, with multiple players’ loan spells set to end and some permanent players’ contracts set to expire at the end of the season.
Having missed out on the Scottish Premiership title, Rangers still have a lot of work to do and transfer additions will be key if they are to compete against and beat their Old Firm rivals next season. This money will go towards helping that.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement could now sign a pair of Scottish sensations to replace exit-bound flops.
