Philippe Clement shares new Kemar Roofe update after Rangers man jets out of Glasgow

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that Kemar Roofe is “still in the building” at Ibrox and could feature against Hearts.

The Light Blues make the trip to Tynecastle for the final game of the Scottish Premiership season on Saturday (18 May) but will be without a number of key players and Clement contends with several injury issues.

While Roofe has already said his goodbyes to Ibrox and even posted a photo of him appearing to jet out of Glasgow, the Gers boss insists he still remains available and could yet play a part against Hearts.

As quoted by The Rangers Review (17 May) he said: “He is still in the building yes.

“It depends on his level and I need to look at the future also.”

Has Kemar Roofe already left Rangers and Ibrox ahead of the summer transfer window?

It’s safe to say that Roofe’s final season at Rangers has been a bit of a strange disappointment as the striker has been unable to deal with injury issues that have plagued a majority of his time in Glasgow.

The 31-year-old has only managed to score one Scottish Premiership goal all season and has only been named in the starting XI in six matches, the last of which came in the Gers’ disappointing 0-0 draw away to Dundee in April.

Roofe and Danilo’s constant fitness issues have left Clement reliant on Cyriel Dessers for much of the season and while the Nigerian forward has improved as the season has worn on, he isn’t the sort of striker that will fire the Gers to a title.

Hopefully, Roofe will be able to bow out on a high at Hampden when the Scottish Cup final rolls around. He may not have been the perfect player in a Rangers shirt, but he did play his part under Steven Gerrard and in the Europa League campaign.
