Jim White laughs as Simon Jordan mocks Rangers live on talkSPORT after Celtic title win
Simon Jordan has mocked Rangers on talkSPORT for their impact on the title race which allowed Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership for the third time in a row.
Brendan Rogers’ side thrashed Kilmarnock 5-0 away from home on Wednesday (15 May) which saw them crowned as Champions.
Celtic secured a win and a draw against the Gers in the past month which ultimately tipped the scales further in their favour.
Speaking on talkSPORT (16 May), Jordan has mocked Rangers for their part in the title race with Jim White in full agreement.
White said: “He (Rodgers) couldn’t go back to Celtic and Rangers win it. He couldn’t afford for that to happen.”
Jordan added: “It’s fortunate that Rangers did their very level best to help Celtic win it. (Jim White laughs) “Well they did, didn’t they? You don’t expect Rangers to lose to Ross County and draw with Dundee in two important games – you just don’t.”
White replied sharply, simply saying: “No, you’re right.”
Did Rangers do enough against Celtic in the title race?
Given the slow start that Rangers had under Michael Beale, Celtic did have a head start in the title race which certainly benefitted them.
The frustration comes when you consider that Clement’s side was almost able to catch their Old Firm rivals before letting it slip again.
Rogers’ side slipped up with defeats to Kilmarnock and Hearts while a draw to Aberdeen gave the Gers some ground.
They were close to being level knowing that a win in the Old Firm at Ibrox (7 April) would make the title race an even playing field.
A draw wasn’t enough and was further compiled by a 2-1 defeat at Parkhead (11 May) where John Lundstram had a mare.

Throw in a defeat against Ross County and a draw to Dundee, the Gers just ebbed away from a potential title.
They certainly could have done more where they dropped points as they just ran out of steam at the vital point of the season.
