Alan Brazil makes Rangers v Celtic prediction ahead of Scottish Cup final
Alan Brazil has offered his prediction on talkSPORT for the Scottish Cup final between Rangers and Celtic on Saturday 25 May.
After a 5-0 win over Kilmarnock, Brendan Rogers’ side confirmed their third Scottish Championship on the bounce.
This leaves Philippe Clement with just one chance to end the season with some silverware as his side face their Old Firm rivals at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup.
Speaking on talkSPORT (16 May), Brazil offered his prediction for the final with his green and white tinted glasses on.
He said: “There’s not a lot between the two sides, Celtic deserved to win it and the cup final could go either way. I think most Celtic and Rangers fans would agree with that.
“I think that Celtic will win it again, the cup final, but it could easily go the other way. It was always going to be in Celtic’s favour in the last game at Parkhead, but the cup final is 50:50 so it’ll be a cracking game.”
Can Rangers win the Scottish Cup?
The final at Hampden provides the Gers to end the season with some momentum as they build towards a better title challenge next campaign.
Given the struggles of Giovanni van Bronckhort and Michael Beale before him, Clement has done well to steady the ship.
A rocky patch of form has certainly proved to be detrimental to his title chances after a defeat to Ross County was compounded by a draw against Dundee.
Throw in a draw and a defeat to Celtic, an uphill task to win the league was made impossible as Rogers’ side continued to push on.
In a one-off game in the cup final, the Gers will be well up for it as they look to recoup a title from a season full of struggle.
If Clement can end the season with a win over Hearts and a Scottish Cup then it won’t all be doom and gloom at Ibrox.
