Tom English drops Abdallah Sima permanent transfer verdict at Rangers
Tom English has told Rangers to complete the permanent signing of Abdallah Sima following a successful loan spell from Brighton this season.
The 22-year-old is set to return to the Premier League side at the end of the season upon the expiration of his loan deal but has left a significant mark behind him at Ibrox.
Despite an injury-plagued second half to the season, the young winger has managed to notch 16 goals and two assists in all competitions and English thinks the Gers should open the chequebook to take him on a full-time deal.
Speaking via BBC Sportsound on Tuesday (14 May), BBC’s Scotland’s chief sports writer English said: “I would definitely pay the money for Abdallah Sima. 16 goals, great contribution, pace. Definitely, if they’ve got the money, sign him.”
Will Rangers sign Abdallah Sima on a permanent deal this summer?
The Gers are said to be the favourites to sign Sima this summer, despite a lot of Premier League interest in the Brighton youngster.
While the Ibrox side will be keen for the 22-year-old to return to Ibrox, the club will need a very busy transfer window in order to complete the deal.
Under the guidance of Philippe Clement, fans will be expecting a major rebuild this summer, with several players set to leave the club as the Belgian brings in a set of new stars to fit his style of play.
It seems that Sima is one of those players who could flourish with Clement’s leadership, having become an extremely important aspect of Rangers’ season before suffering a long-term injury at the beginning of January.

Of course, with the lack of goalscorers in the squad this season, with only James Tavernier and Cyriel Dessers scoring more, the Senegalese forward would be a very welcomed addition.
As English says, if Rangers can afford to sign Sima this summer, they should certainly consider investing in the young star following his successful loan spell at Ibrox.
