Rangers star Kemar Roofe reveals Ibrox exit after 5-2 win v Dundee
Rangers striker Kemar Roofe has confirmed he will leave Ibrox when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Jamaica international has barely featured this season after a string of injury problems, but netted the all-important winning goal against Real Betis in the Europa League group stage to help the team top the group.
But with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Roofe took to his personal Instagram account to confirm that he won’t be renewing following the 5-2 win over Dundee on Tuesday 14 May, where he made a substitute appearance.
“Ibrox it’s been a pleasure… thanks for having me,” he wrote alongside two images of him clapping the fans in the stands.
Rangers clearout begins at Ibrox ahead of busy summer
There is expected to be a major clearout at Ibrox this summer, with some even claiming there could be a “mini-revolution” for Philippe Clement.
So it’s only right that the business has started early, and Roofe was one of the easier choices to make in reality because of his injury problems and his contract status.
There is no doubting that when he is fit the 31-year-old is a fantastic striker and arguably one of the best finishers at the club, but the problem is that he can’t be relied upon over the course of a whole season.

When that happens it just makes it impossible to stick around at a top club, and Clement has made the right decision by letting Roofe move on.
With Cyriel Dessers and Danilo in the squad for next season as striker options, Rangers will no doubt look for a new signing to come in and compete too and it seems like a good start to the summer business.
In other Rangers news, the club want to sign this teenage sensation whose dad was a Premier League striker.
