Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz may leave as big-money transfer update emerges

Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz may leave Ibrox in the summer if a big-money offer arrives, according to Derek Clark.

The Rangers Review journalist said on 15 May that Borna Barisic is expected to be on his way out as well as his deal runs out.

A new left-back is something that the club wants in the summer and Yilmaz, who started the 5-2 win v Dundee on 14 May, may also be on his way out.

Clark said on the Morning Briefing at 28:40: “Rangers will be looking for a left-back. I imagine Borna will be departing. Ridvan, there were talks earlier on. Whether he stays or leaves, who knows? If a big-money offer was to come in then he may be away as well.”

Rangers must resist urge to cash in on Ridvan Yilmaz

There is an urge for Gers to sell the Turkey international for big money due to the potential financial benefits it could bring, especially considering the club’s current financial situation and the need to strengthen other areas of the squad.

However, despite the prospect of a lucrative transfer, Gers should consider building the side around Yilmaz.

He is a young and talented defender who has already shown considerable promise in his performances for the club.

At 22 years old, he has a long career ahead of him and could become a key player for the team in the years to come.

His performances have miraculously improved this season and he’s finally showing why he was brought to the club.

Rangers are already facing a significant amount of upheaval with the departure of Kemar Roofe, Borna Barisic and possibly other players like John Lundstram and Ryan Jack.

Selling Yilmaz would only add to this upheaval and could disrupt the team’s cohesion and stability.

Instead, retaining the Turk’s services and building the side around him could provide a sense of continuity and stability that would be beneficial for the team’s performance.

In other Gers news, a first-team player may be told to empty out his Ibrox locker soon as a ‘Major Development’ has emerged behind the scenes.
