Borna Barisic expected to leave Rangers after what he was spotted doing at Ibrox

Borna Barisic is highly unlikely to stay put at Rangers after what he was seen doing at Ibrox after the Dundee win on 14 May.

The Croatia international was an unused substitute as Philippe Clement’s side clawed their way back from a two-goal deficit to win 5-2.

As this was the last home game of the season, it would’ve been the ideal farewell for Barisic, but he did not get to come on and was spotted being emotional as he looked to the stands after the game.

Borna Barisic faces an uncertain future at Rangers

The 31-year-old’s future appears uncertain as his contract nears its end and his position in the team hierarchy has seemingly diminished.

The Dundee game could have been a fitting farewell for the Croatian international, but he did not get the opportunity to play, and his emotional demeanour after the game hinted at a potential departure.

Barisic has certainly fallen down the pecking order at Gers with Ridvan Yilmaz and Dujon Sterling being Clement’s preferred options.

This change in team dynamics has led to speculation that Barisic’s time at Rangers may be coming to an end.

A move to Trabzonspor may be on the cards for the Rangers defender

Furthermore, there are reports linking Barisic to a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor, indicating a total agreement being reached as well.

Barisic, who moved to Ibrox in August 2018, has been a vital part of the squad, making over 200 appearances and contributing significantly to the team’s success.

However, with his contract expiring and a potential move elsewhere on the horizon, it seems that Rangers may have to prepare for life without the experienced left-back.

In other Gers news, a first-team player may be told to empty out his Ibrox locker soon as a ‘Major Development’ has emerged behind the scenes.
