Philippe Clement confirms Rangers team news v Dundee as 11 players missing

Philippe Clement has confirmed his Rangers side will be without 11 players as they welcome Dundee to Ibrox on Tuesday (14 May)

While it looks unlikely that the Gers will pip their Old Firm rivals to the Scottish Premiership title, Clement will still be hoping for his side to finish the campaign with pride.

That task seems to have got quite a lot harder as the Belgian revealed his lengthy injury list following the 2-1 defeat to Celtic on Saturday 11 May, adding to the players already on the sidelines.

Speaking ahead of the clash on Monday (13 May), Clement said: “Souttar, Goldson, Balogun, Sterling, Lundstram, Lawrence, Cortes, Matondo, Sima, Danilo and Rice will all be missing for tomorrow.”

With the Scottish Premiership title race virtually over now, providing Celtic do not lose both remaining games, the 11 injuries will not be too much of a concern heading into the league game.

However, with an upcoming Old Firm derby in the Scottish Cup final, Clement will be hoping that some of these absentees can be back for the clash.

Despite losing out on just their second league title in the last decade, Rangers could finish the season with two pieces of silverware – the League Cup and the Scottish Cup.

This would certainly be seen as a success for Clement’s first season in charge, especially with the number of injuries that have racked up throughout the campaign.

The Gers have been without the likes of Tom Lawrence, Danilo and Abdallah Sima for large parts of the season, though the recent flurry of injuries has only exacerbated those woes.

Of course, with John Lundstram’s red card against Celtic, he was always going to miss the clash against Dundee, but Leon Balogun could be a huge miss, as could Dujon Sterling.

In other Rangers news, a “great” Light Blues attacker is wanted for a permanent exit from Ibrox.
