Fabio Silva moment in Celtic v Rangers leaves Neil McCann in disbelief live on BBC
Neil McCann slammed Fabio Silva for effectively being a passenger as Rangers fell to defeat against Celtic.
Silva missed a couple of good opportunities in the first half and did little to cut out the ball in the build up to Celtic’s second goal.
The Wolves loanee had a poor game on the whole in Saturday’s (11 May) 2-1 loss at Parkhead that has all but killed off the title race.
Speaking on BBC Sportscene [11 May, 19m 14s], McCann said: “Fabio Siva down the left channel doesn’t do enough.
“He’s missed two big chances in the game, including one guilt-edged one, and he was constantly caught ball watching.
“You can’t do that in this fixture. If you do, you get punished.”
Fabio Silva not only player to blame for Rangers
Silva has rightly come in for a lot of criticism for struggling both offensively and defensively against Celtic.
In the attacker’s defence, at least he was making things happen in the first half, albeit without making the most of his opportunities.
It was the defensive aspect of the game – or lack of it – that frustrated so many, however, as Celtic raced into an easy 2-0 lead.
Given the Portuguese’s loan spell is soon due to be up, you have to imagine he will not be returning once recalled by Wolves.

Silva was not the only player to blame for the defeat, with John Lundstram in particular public enemy number one today.
Ultimately, it was another Old Firm in which Rangers did not turn up, and that is just quite simply not acceptable.
The title is over, but at least there is a chance of redemption in the Scottish Cup final a couple of weeks from now.
