Rangers v Celtic injury news as Doctor issues Abdallah Sima update
Rangers attacker Abdallah Sima may even require surgery and remains a doubt for the Celtic clash on 11 May, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while surgery can be postponed for the summer, there is a likelihood of him not returning this season.
The club appear to be hopeful that they can have the Senegal international back for the Old Firm derby, but as things stand, he remains a major doubt for the game.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Unsure if it’s a reinjury but if it’s just tightness on his hamstring, then he could potentially return before the season.
“If this is a multiple-time issue that doesn’t seem to be responding well to rehab and treatment, then surgery could be considered which would see him missing all the remaining games or he could even have it in the summer.
“The club seem hopeful of his return and it remains to be seen how serious it is, but at this stage, surgery cannot be ruled out.“
Rangers attacker Abdallah Sima battled another injury worry in 2024
It has been an injury-ravaged 2024 for Sima and he appears to be ending the season fighting a battle against his fitness.
The 22-year-old has had an exceptional season for Gers and his absence is one of the major reasons why Celtic are back in the ascendancy on the table.

In 24 league games, Sima has scored 11 goals and provided two assists – operating from the left wing and right wing.
