Four Lads dismiss Alex Rae and Fabio Silva Rangers bust-up rumours as ‘fantasy’
Rumours that Fabio Silva and Rangers coach Alex Rae were involved in a bust-up have been branded “complete fantasy” and “absolute nonsense” by Four Lads Had A Dream.
Speculation surfaced that the pair had fallen out ahead of the upcoming Old Firm derby on 11 May, painting a picture of dressing room unrest.
However, those rumours have now been quashed, with Four Lads claiming there are “zero dressing room issues” and also remarking on the recent clashes between individual fans and players – namely Borna Barisic and Jack Butland.
They replied on X in response to the now-deleted post which claimed there had been a bust-up (7 May): “Just to be clear, the stuff about Rae is complete fantasy, absolute nonsense.
“Jack Butland had his family to get home then him to the PFA awards, [he was] on instruction to go straight, he always stops every time.
“As for Barisic, [he was] responding to personal abuse which is on the fan, not him.
“There [are] zero dressing room issues.”
No Rangers dressing room issues ahead of the Old Firm derby against Celtic
Recent events and subsequent speculation have painted a picture of a Rangers dressing room in poor spirits.
A three-game winless run in April comprised of a 3-3 home draw with Celtic, a shock 3-2 defeat at Ross County and a 0-0 draw against Dundee in a twice-rearranged game at Dens Park that appeared to take the wind out of Rangers’ sails.
However, the Gers have since bounced back, winning each of their subsequent three matches across all competitions against Hearts, St. Mirren and Kilmarnock.
The most recent victory over the latter, though, was marred by two altercations outside Ibrox, with Barisic and Butland both reacting angrily after being provoked following the game.
That has seemingly not affected the mood in the dressing room, according to Four Lads, and Philippe Clement’s men know that a win in the Old Firm derby at Celtic Park on 11 May will see the Gers go level with their Scottish Premiership rivals – and keep their treble-winning dreams alive.
