Chris Sutton fires one-word jibe at Fabio Silva live on Sky Sports after Kris Boyd Rangers admission

Chris Sutton has fired a one-word jibe at Rangers loanee Fabio Silva live on Sky Sports after Kris Boyd questioned what the forward had done since arriving at Ibrox.

The 21-year-old joined Philippe Clement’s side on loan in the January transfer window but has struggled to have a major impact in a light blue shirt, scoring just twice in 14 Scottish Premiership appearances this season.

Silva started the Gers clash with Kilmarnock on Sunday (5 May) but before the game, Boyd was quick to voice his frustration with the Portuguese striker’s performances while suggesting Rangers remain reliant on James Tavernier.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football (5 May, 12:07) he said: “You look at Fabio Silva, what has he done since he came in?”

Sutton quickly hit back saying: “Dive”

Boyd was quick to reply: “You love that one don’t you?”

Will Rangers sign Fabio Silva permanently from Wolves in the summer transfer window?

While Sutton’s remark was more than a bit tongue in cheek, when Silva leaves Rangers this summer, he will likely be remembered for little more than his ability to fall to the ground and throw a tantrum when substituted.

In the Old Firm clash with Celtic at Ibrox he was branded a cheat as he managed to win a penalty with a theatrical dive and in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts, he fell to the floor under no pressure when presented with an excellent scoring chance.

Fabio Silva joined Rangers in January but has struggled at Ibrox

Silva was signed to add an extra dimension to Clement’s attack for the second half of the season, but all he has done is frustrate pundits and supporters alike while failing to deliver on the pitch when it comes to the final third.

There is absolutely no chance the Gers will move to make his loan switch permanent come the end of the season. Silva has done little to justify his wages let alone a transfer fee and that is unlikely to change in the final few games.
