Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin "won't be happy" with his current situation at Ibrox and could look to leave this summer, according to Neil McCann.

The Belgian midfielder was a regular under Michael Beale in Glasgow but has fallen out of favour since Philippe Clement arrived, with his last Scottish Premiership start coming back in March in a 2-1 defeat to Motherwell.

Even with John Lundstram appearing set to leave Ibrox this summer, Clement has preferred the Englishman ahead of Raskin and pundit McCann believes a summer transfer could be the best move for all parties.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show (3 May, 7:00) he said: "I think Raskin might be a player, he won't be happy not playing. I know he's working under a Belgian but he might look to move on.

"There are players there who he [Clement] might start to look at and think what kind of worth have they given the squad and the team this season."

Will Nicolas Raskin leave Rangers and Ibrox in the summer transfer window?

No footballer is ever happy when they're not playing and Raskin won't be any different. The Belgian midfielder has been little more than a support option under Clement and he'll be keen to get playing regularly.

That is unlikely to change over the summer, especially as the Gers manager appears ready to put his own stamp on the squad at Ibrox. If more midfielders are signed, Raskin is only going to slip further and further down the pecking order.

Rangers Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement has barely used Nicolas Raskin at Rangers this season.

Although his recent form has been fairly indifferent, the Light Blues should be able to raise a reasonable fee for the 23-year-old's services given his age and previous performances. Hopefully, somebody will be willing to match Rangers' asking price.

While some supporters will always suggest that Clement didn't have Raskin a fair crack of the whip this season, he showed very little when selected to justify his place. In a shorter period of time, Mohamed Diomande has been much more impressive.
