Rangers closing in on ‘Unbelievable’ Abdallah Sima transfer as £20m sale mooted
Rangers are optimistic about sealing a £6million deal to sign Abdallah Sima permanently from Brighton and have been tipped to sell him for £20million already, according to Dean Jones.
Writing on their website (2 May), the news outlet reported that the Glasgow club are pushing to make his loan move permanent this summer.
Speaking to former CBS journalist Jones, he has backed them to secure an “unbelievable deal” if they conclude a transfer for £6m after revealing that other Premier League clubs have been looking at the winger in recent seasons.
“Rangers would be getting an unbelievable deal if they signed Sima for £6m,” he said.
“He’s been a good fit for them and I would expect a player with his qualities to be up towards £20million.
“A few other Premier League clubs have had an eye on him in the past couple of years, I think he’s a great watch. But optimism does seem to be there that Rangers are going to tie this one up at a fee that is absolutely from the bargain basement.”
Rangers to splash the cash this summer on Abdallah Sima?
£6million is a lot of money for Rangers, and Philippe Clement has got a lot of work to do on his squad at Ibrox this summer so it’s a big decision to make.
But after scoring 16 goals this season despite missing two months of the campaign through injury, it would surely be too big of a gap to try and close next season by letting him go and trying to replace him.
At 22-years-old Sima is only going to get better too and as Jones says, that could easily see him eventually sold on for double, triple or even more than that fee to a Premier League club.

Rangers have to be smart with their money with so many players potentially leaving and other areas of the squad already needing bolstering, but this seems like a no-brainer.
His most recent injury means he may not play for the club again if a deal with Brighton can’t be struck, but surely those in charge at Ibrox aren’t crazy enough to let that be the case.
