John Hartson issues Philippe Clement transfer stance on two Rangers players

John Hartson believes Philippe Clement wants to sign one or two Rangers loan players permanently this summer.

However, he does not see Fabio Silva being part of the list of players the Belgian will want at Ibrox next season.

Abdallah Sima has done well since joining on loan from Brighton while Mohamed Diomande has also impressed since his January arrival.

Hartson told Go Radio, as quoted by Daily Record [2 May]: “Has he done enough? Has he excited the crowd and been really important figure in Rangers’ turn of fortune and getting on that great run?

“Finances might come out of it. When you go to Wolves for £35million and I don’t know how much Rangers are paying for the loan deal – I am sure Philippe Clement will want to keep one or two other loan players.

“I think there is a lot of wheeling and dealing to do in the summer but I am probably with Jamie, I would imagine he will go back to Wolves.”

Rangers must sign Abdallah Sima and Mohamed Diomande

Sima has been a key figure in the team’s attacking play and Diomande has impressed since his January arrival.

Their contributions have been significant enough to suggest that Clement, would likely want to keep them on a permanent basis.

This decision is supported by their positive impact on the field, which suggests they have successfully integrated into the team and are valuable assets.

On the other hand, the case of Silva is different.

Despite being a high-profile signing for Wolves, Silva’s performances at Ibrox have not been as impactful.

Hartson’s statement implies that Silva has not met the expectations set for him and may not have had the same level of influence on the team’s fortunes as Sima and Diomande.

Mohamed Diomande’s permanent switch from FC Nordsjaelland for 5million is the headline signing of the summer for Rangers

This, coupled with financial considerations and the potential cost of retaining him, makes a strong case for not considering him for a permanent place in the Gers squad.
