Rangers transfer news as update emerges on John Lundstram to Trabzonspor
Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has issued a response when quizzed about Rangers midfielder John Lundstram.
Borna Barisic has also been linked with a move to the Turkish club with both players’ deals running out at the end of the season.
However, Dogan refused to admit that the two players are on the radar but stated that things will be completed over the coming days.
He said, via the Daily Record on 1 May: “It would not be right for me to confirm names here. Some are right, some names are wrong. But with regard to the names mentioned, I can only say we are working in coordination with the manager, Abdullah Avci. We plan to complete most of the transfers for the new season in the coming days.
“The aim is to start the season with a ready-made squad that the entire technical team has approved for the pre-season camp. Therefore, we are progressing that aspect of the work quickly with our manager and his team.
“We’ve done the hard part. Our aim is to give good news to the community of Trabzonspor supporters very soon.”
Rangers duo John Lundstram and Borna Barisic likely to leave
Dogan hinted at completing most of their transfer business in the coming days, which aligns with the reports that Lundstram has agreed to a three-year deal with the Turkish club.
Furthermore, the president’s comments about working in coordination with the manager and their aim to start the season with a ready-made squad, suggest that the deal for Lundstram and possibly Barisic is imminent.
Additionally, the fact that Lundstram is out of contract at Ibrox this summer and Trabzonspor’s president’s coy admission regarding their interest in the duo further supports the likelihood of the transfer.
Lundstram’s potential departure from the club could leave a void in the team due to his significant contributions.
However, if he no longer wishes to be at Ibrox, Gers should not hold on to him.
Retaining a player who is not committed can affect team morale and performance.

It is in the club’s best interest to focus on players who are dedicated to the team’s success.
In other Rangers news, a first-team player has reached the end of his cycle at Ibrox and a £2m transfer may be on the cards.
