Rangers make Hearts ticket announcement, 14,000+ face massive disappointment

Rangers have confirmed that 15,400 supporters applied for a ticket for the final-day clash with Hearts at Tynecastle.

However, only 632 were up for grabs, meaning some 14,768 now face the disappointment of finding alternative arrangements.

The Rangers FC SLO account on X shared the update on Tuesday (30 April), with those who are eligible to proceed being contacted.

A little under three weeks out from the clash, we do not yet know whether the game in Edinburgh will be a dead-rubber or a title decider of sorts.

That depends on results between now and then, with the Gers hopeful of at least taking the thrilling title race with Celtic down to the final day.

When factoring in the thousands who likely did not bother applying for tickets, Rangers could do with putting contingency plans in place.

They will not be able to request a higher share of the tickets at Tynecastle, but putting on an event at Ibrox or nearby would make sense.

However, Celtic being home to St Mirren that day will also further complicate matters.

Rangers hoping to take Celtic title race all the way

The club will not want to announce anything this early on at the risk of being left red-faced if Celtic wrap up the title beforehand.

However, hopefully there will be some talks going on behind the scenes to ensure those who missed out on tickets can still watch together.

Much like organising an open-top bus parade, the logistics will be awkward as you are planning for something that may never happen.

If Rangers do pip Celtic to the title on the final day, it will make for one of the most remarkable title triumphs in Scottish Premiership history.

Let’s just hope those who are not lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket can still be catered for, so to speak, if it does indeed go the distance.
