Kris Boyd rages over Fabio Silva showing in Rangers v St Mirren, ‘what has he done?’
Kris Boyd has criticised Fabio Silva after he failed to positively impact the game despite Rangers winning 2-1 at St Mirren on Sunday (28 April).
Philippe Clement’s side had to win and things started well at St Mirren Park as Dujon Sterling helped to force a James Bolton own goal. The lead lasted mere minutes, though, as Mikael Mandron headed past Jack Butland.
Cyriel Dessers scored the match-winning goal as he scored a simple header, registering his 20th goal of the season.
But, speaking on Sky Sports Football (28 April), Boyd slammed loanee Silva for what he felt was another largely amonymous performance for the Light Blues.
He said: “Fabio Silva, what has he done? What has he done? It is another 50-60 minutes where you think to yourself you haven’t done much again.”
How did Fabio Silva play for Rangers v St Mirren?
The Portuguese forward moved to Glasgow in the January transfer window on a loan deal until the end of the season from Wolves.
Silva, 21, has so far scored just four goals for Rangers in what has been a disappointing spell in the Scottish Premiership.
He has often been criticised for not staying on his feet and came under scrutiny once again as he went down asking for a penalty.
Clement started him but he could only manage 29 touches [FotMob] before he was substituted on 56 minutes for Ross McCausland.
He did manage a 71 per cent pass accuracy but with no dribbles completed and no shots on target, he wasn’t good enough going forward.

Despite being a more attack-minded player, playing on the left he has to track back and help out Borna Barisic.
With just one of six ground duels won and zero per cent of ariels won, the question from Boyd is valid, what has he done?
