Fabio Silva blasted ’embarrassing’ by BBC pundit after what Rangers forward did v St Mirren
Fabio Silva has been labelled “embarrassing” by Steven Thompson after his weak penalty claim in Rangers’ 2-1 win away at St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Thompson insisted that Silva already has form for diving and should have been booked, stating he doesn’t need to keep throwing himself to the floor.
Wolves loanee Silva is quickly picking up a reputation for diving after he was previously accused of going over too easily during Rangers’ 3-3 draw with Celtic and the 2-0 win against Hearts.
Speaking live on BBC Sportsound [28 April, 13:01], Thompson fumed: “He’s got previous for it, it’s a booking, it’s a dive.
“He doesn’t need to do it. It’s embarrassing.”
Fabio Silva labelled “embarrassing” yet again for Rangers v St Mirren
This is not the first time Silva has been slammed for his antics, nor is it the first time the word “embarrassing” has been used in connection to one of his performances in a Rangers shirt and he continues to struggle in his loan spell.
The likes of Hartson and Chris Sutton have labelled the Portuguese “embarrassing” and “ridiculous” after his recent antics on the pitch with even more diving accusations levelled at the forward after his recent performances in Scotland.
Sutton was recently involved in a dispute with Graeme Souness following Silva’s alleged dive against Celtic (ironically one of the only times he hadn’t dived) as Souness defended the Ibrox loanee – but he will not be able to defend him for much longer.

Silva’s reputation will not just be bad for him and Rangers in terms of their image, but it could also damage his chances of earning a legitimate penalty later in the season. He’s fast becoming the boy who cried penalty.
