Rangers duo Borna Barisic and John Lundstram set to leave amid complete agreement

Borna Barisic and John Lundstram are set to leave Rangers in the summer and join Turkish side Trabzonspor, according to Kuzey Anadolu.

The Turkish news outlet reported on 26 April that “everything” is now agreed with Lundstram with his contract expiring in the summer.

Barisic, whose deal at Ibrox also runs out in June, will be moving to the same club as the 30-year-old Englishman and an announcement is due in the coming weeks.

Rangers fail to get transfer fees for either Borna Barisic or John Lundstram

Barisic and Lundstram’s departures from Ibrox to Trabzonspor represent a loss for the Scottish club, especially considering Rangers won’t receive any transfer fees for either player due to their contracts expiring.

The Crotian’s departure means the club will lose a player with a wealth of experience, having played over 1500 minutes for the Bears and assisting three goals this season.

Lundstram, 30, has also been a crucial player for the Ibrox outfit, and despite a recent slump in form, he’s still performed at a decent level

The only downside for the club is that they will not receive a transfer fee for either player.

Gers’ inability to secure new deals with Barisic and Lundstram before their contracts expired, particularly after holding talks with the latter, means they are now set to leave on free transfers.

This scenario is a reminder of the importance of contract management and the potential financial implications of failing to secure players on new deals before their contracts run out.

In other Rangers news, a “horrible” player is now left with just a handful games to save his career at Ibrox amid recent criticism.
