John Lundstram dropped by Philippe Clement – Predicted Rangers XI v St Mirren

Rangers will be looking to keep the pressure on Celtic when they take on St Mirren in the SPFL on Sunday, 28 April.

Ahead of the game, Philippe Clement revealed that a number of first-team players excluding Danilo will be ruled out for the Gers.

This could mean that changes will be afoot from the 2-0 win over Hearts in the Scottish Cup last weekend.

Rangers to miss five first-team players

Clement said: “Sima will be out, I hope to see him again this season he is very motivated for that.

“Matondo got a bad tackle against Hearts and is doubtful for the weekend.

“Ridvan and Jack I expect back in training next week.”

Sima and Matondo both started the game against Hearts and as they’re unavailable for this one, Clement will have to turn to his squad.

Ross McCausland has shown promise in glimpses this season and this could be the game for him to shine on the right wing.

Kemar Roofe may make rare Rangers start

Kemar Roofe has recovered from his injury and will be an interesting option on the left with him likely to be more of a goal threat than Fabio Silva.

John Lundstram, who appears to be on his way out in the summer, started against Hearts with Dujon Sterling playing at left-back.

However, with Sterling much more effective in the middle, there is a chance Clement drops Lundstram to accommodate the 24-year-old.

This could see Borna Barisic returning at left-back.

The fourth change is Connor Goldson coming back into the eleven for John Souttar as Leon Balogun impressed and must continue in the eleven.

In other Rangers news, a first-team player has reached the end of his cycle at Ibrox and a £2m transfer may be on the cards.
