Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz injury news emerges ahead of St Mirren clash
Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz remains a doubt for the game against St Mirren on Sunday, 28 April, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to the Turkey international’s lack of fitness over the last month as he’s missed a number of games for Philippe Clement’s side.
Gers travel to St Mirren Park on the weekend with a win crucial for their title aspirations.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Yilmaz is battling to return to full fitness and while he remains in contention for games, he is not able to make the matchday squads.
“This can be typical for injuries that are more day to day in nature so you don’t want to rule the player out but also cannot rule them in either.
“It’s hard to tell when the player may meet that threshold for return.
“I’d say he’s still a doubt for the weekend game as he does not seem back in intense first-team training yet.“
Ridvan Yilmaz may need a late fitness test for Rangers v St Mirren
Yilmaz’s return is crucial for Rangers because he has cemented his place as a regular starter and his performances have been impressive under Clement.
His absence due to injury has been a cause for concern, especially with important matches coming up, including the Old Firm clash against Celtic.
His fitness and availability could significantly impact Gers’ performance and their chances of winning crucial games, which are vital for their title aspirations.

It remains to be seen if he’s in contention for a late fitness test over the weekend.
In other Rangers news, a “horrible” player is now left with just a handful games to save his career at Ibrox amid recent criticism.
