John Lundstram and Borna Barisic agree deals in principle to quit Rangers, announcements due

John Lundstram and Borna Barisic are on the verge of leaving Rangers with Trabzonspor agreeing deals in principle with the Ibrox duo, according to TeknoZil.

After failing to tie the duo down to new contracts, they now appear to be departing Ibrox in a free transfer to Turkey.

The Turkish news outlet reported on Thursday (25 April) that official announcements about Lundstram and Barisic’s transfers are set to be made soon.

These moves have reportedly been made despite Philippe Clement trying his best to keep ex-Sheffield United midfielder Lundstram as he appreciates his versatility.

Should Rangers let Lundstram and Barisic leave?

It has been made clear that Lundstram was wanted at Rangers by his manager but has seemingly opted for a move away.

So far this campaign he has played 31 matches in the SPFL in which he has assisted four goals but is yet to score. This isn’t a surprise given he has featured in a defensive midfield position under Clement.

He has featured in over 2600 minutes for the Light Blues and has been an important factor in their title challenge.

Since joining on a free transfer from Sheffield United, he has shown himself to be an excellent bit of business.
